Kent Jensen and Idumea: Bio

Kent Jensen and Idumea

Embracing a fusion of cultures, Kent Jensen has adopted Latin American culture as his own, combining with Ana Boyd and Emilia Jensen, who bring their Costa Rican heritage into this harmonic blend. The result is an insightful mix of rock, latin, and folk musical genres. With a heavy emphasis on latin rhythms the music cannot be ignored and thoughtful lyrics stir the soul.

The groups talents are as diverse as the music. Kent Jensen and Emilia Jensen pen the group's songs. Kent leads the way with vocals and a unique combination of guitar and synthesizers. Kent Jensen has performed in Costa Rica and locally. Ana Boyd gives the music a unique flare with work on viola, keyboards and vocals. She graduated with a performance degree from Boise State and performs frequently with Opera Idaho. She also performed with the Moody Blues, when this classic rock act played in Boise.

They have performed from Las Vegas to Hollywood and some other places in between. They have appeared on the cd compilation for the December 2006, June, and November/December 2007 issues of Global Rhythm Magazine. This has been a great honor as it has allowed them to share cd space with such artists as Tina Turner, Thomas Mapfumo, and Manu Chao. The album Lies, Deception, Innuendo was given a Grindy Award by RadioIndy. A new piece “Dreams” will be on the soundtrack for the movie “Noccalula” set to be released in June 2010.

Although their not ready to quit their day jobs, they love what they do. They hope the music gives you food for thought, and hey, they'll go anywhere, anytime to share their music with you.
